Hope you get it sorted soon. I had a Polo rod linkage bend on a level crossing and couldn't select first afterwards. Is it cable linkage?

Nope. It's a rod linkage. The problem's definitely a box fault though. Took it off today and found a distinct lack of gearbox oil.

It's on the yard now and I still can't get it out of third.
