Such a busy busy week. Been test fitting the new rear lights but I have had to order and new passenger side one because it is missing one of the threads on the rear of it and its the most important one too! But never mind as i bought a lovely 6n2 interior. Has some slight wear and tear but nothing a snap on seat cover cant hide haha. Also the rocker cover is still in the process of going to the powder coaters but just haven't had time, but hopefully today i will drop it off. I hopefully this evening I will be able to get the car out of the garage and give it a wee clean and see what it looks like as have not seen it outside for months, will have to tow it out haha.

Will get some photos uploaded soon of all the new parts.

Take care everyone.

Like i promised pictures today, so anyway i have recently done something good and i have saved myself five pound haha. So most polos must have this problem, when someone has tightened the rocker to tight the bolt snaps completely inside. Well today i took the part out and drilled it and then stuck an allen key inside the whole i drilled and the rest of the thread came out. Already got a new bolt from my last polo, so happy i kept them bolts haha.

Pictures of the job.

Drilled.

Out came the thread.

Test the bolt and it works. Job done.

I keep saying i will drop this rocker cover off at the powder coaters but i have had to prioritize the project. So next on the list is get that window mechanism fixed. Well towed the polo out yesterday and here is how the new interior looks like and what the dash board looks like too.

Well hope you like them photos... Now as i got the car out i remember a certain thing i fitted for the shows.... Another side light circuit with red bulbs and then for road use i have the clear ones next to it too.

IMG_20140204_170117_zpsd384e4de.jpg

Also its now currently sitting on literally nothing because have no coilovers yet and the springs sold haha. But it isn't moving anywhere so not bothered just yet.

IMG_20140204_163424_zpsf48badfa.jpg

The front sits very high but as i say its not going anywhere yet so no need to be panicking. Would never ever drive it like this for on the roads.

So there is my update. Hope you enjoy and i'm sorry if its boring haha.

Thanks everyone.

Love the lows looking good all round

  • Author

Well, spring seems to have come a wee early here for me. The sun has been out and the polo has too and it put a smile on my face, now its all about tires, actual lows and British touring cars haha well thats when its back on.

Hope you like what I'm doing so far as i know I'm not brilliant at making cars look good but I'm doing my very best with the little i have.

Take it easy everyone and keep watching my thread :-p

Thanks

I'm a fan of the teardrops when they've had a good polish, crack the autosol out!

Should look well on your car dude!

Haha don't worry pal will surly be really clean them wheels soon...

So people tonight I bought some vr6 seats for 30 pound and already put the fronts in. Pictures to follow soon.

Cheers everyone.

I like the wheels will look nice when you get them polished up! Might need some spacers to get a bit of poke though.

£30 for a vr6 interior :o Bargain!

Engine's looking clean, got to do the harlequins soon :help: Don't think I'll get it that clean ha.

  • Author

Haha you will mate I just used kitchen cleaner and it did the trick. Loving your harlequin pal!!!!

Also yes pal 30 pound and it is a massive bargain. Just need a good clean, drivers seat has a smudge of damage but i'm soon to be a full time technician so will get some snap on seat covers for the fronts.

Also them wheels i know they do need some spacers, wheels will be going to a specialist soon and the drops will be going black.

Cheers everyone.

Busy....................... Well lots and lots bought for the polo, such as coilovers, pressed plates, white spray paint, new steelie, adhesive spray and the rest... Will not talk to much as have loads and loads of photos and i have another seven items on the way! The next items are only dust caps and a new radio with remote, also things such as spray paint etc etc etc.

Anyway enjoy the pictures and hope you like the polo even more now.

Always nice to come home to a letter in the post box saying parcels next door, so went next door and picked these nice two wee surprises... Coilovers and the new steelie.

Spray paint, adhesive and stickers!

Got a little excited with the coilovers i must say.

Whatmess_zps45f91a53.jpg

Yummy_zpsefdf1d45.jpg

Soo the night before lay everything on the floor that i would need for coilover day (20/03/14)

Allprepared_zps8c8fd23b.jpg

So coilover day arrived and i took the helpers out, as you do ;)

Helpersout_zps499fe594.jpg

Up she goes

Upshegoes_zpsae3d2d75.jpg

Coilovers plastered in copper grease (rubbish photo i know) Then fitted to the car on fronts only for now.

Face down arse up..... Still counts right???

Facedownarseup_zps6cf417fb.jpg

Now for the rears.....

Andstretch_zps9603a3df.jpg

Then all done so a wee cheeky photo of the front end sitting as low as possible before she goes for her chassis notch next month!

Withoutchassisnotch_zpsc122d27a.jpg

I also seen this as a great opportunity to test fit the teardrops on the back and she is a bit too low so had to adjust coilovers and then put the steels back on well once i had sprayed two of the wheels white. The wheels on the other side will be sprayed white tonight. Rolling wheels for now until i get some more money to afford some decent tyres but not going for stretch just a nice flush side wall but low profiles.

Now last thing i have done is add these new pressed LEGAL reg plates.

Did not think i would fall in love with another polo since my last five door but wow this one has made me smile and she is staying!!!

Hope the update is good enough, more to come!!!

Thanks for looking.

your missing some bolts on your rear wheels dude :P

looking really good :D is she a bit scrapey at that height though?

  • Author

Very matey, I don't drive her on the roads yet but even just getting off the drive when I turn her around is very scrapey.

She will be going higher when the teardrops get done and when it's actually on the roads haha.

Thank you mate!!

looking forward to seeing this moving haha keep it up

Beautiful man, She's pretty, How have you found your VR6's? Are they the full Leathers? I found mine really weird driving with, Thinking about looking at some new ones as it makes me feel like I'm smaller than I already am, (5'8 ahahaha)

  • Author

My vr6 seats mate were horrible and not leather!!! I've taken them back out now and put my 6n2 seats back in.

She is beautiful I must admit but she is still work in progress. Wind deflectors have been ordered now and will be here tomorrow.

Cheers pal and thank you for looking.

Car looking good at the moment but slow progress, start my new job in seven weeks which means this car is going to be going up in the world too.

Also this means the car will be getting its new tyres on the wheels in about 2-3 months time. The steelies are just cheap wheels and i had some green paint around so decided to just spray them green as the car is not going anywhere fast so it doesn't bother me. Some people like it tho and some people think I am mad.

Thanks for looking.

Swapping the teardrops for some gti split rims, they are being sandblasted. Good swap?

Thanks for looking.

Not updated for a while, so here is a nice update.

So over the last week i have been talking to a close friend who is scraping his Seat Ibiza. So we got talking and he has some half leathers and half fabrics in his car and he turned around to me and said you can have anything off the car you need before it goes to the scrap yard. So out came the 6n2 seats and i swapped him for these really nice looking, no rips half leather seats.

Front's.

Newseats_zps5c4db13c.jpg

Rear's.

Newseats2_zps23b09a32.jpg

Basically the car is just generally having things either tided up or made better, from things like new stickers to just anything i can think i want.

Next task was remove the spark plugs, oh and these has not been changed from new, so they are a mess. Here's a picture of how badly damaged they actually are, one is even missing part of the insulation but i have made sure none of it is in the bores. Oh and the other thing is that there of different makes :( new ones on the way it is then.

Spark_zps8d9793ca.jpg

Here is some pictures of how she is now anyway. Enjoy.

Redpolobackend_zps739dc3f9.jpg

I haven't got lots of money so here is my cheap but effective boot build ;)

bootbuild_zpsa37ae898.jpg

Lots more to come. Soon to be starting my new job at Ford, so will be able to get the Polo on the roads and get some tyres finally for the wheels unless i sell them and get some banded steelies.

Thanks for looking.
