I'm tying to work out if a mini will get into my garage. There a big camber on the road outside and my mk2 golf 16v used to scrape its front bumper getting in and out. I had a standard metro in it with no issues but I know a mini has a shorter wheelbase by 200mm. Any ideas?

If its bumpers youre worried about its more going to be bumper overhangs etc a problem

do you mean track width or wheelbase?

Just get some wooden planks if you're that worried.

I'd say the closer the wheels are to each other the better, think less chance of grounding, think about going over a speedbump in a short car vs a long car (of the same height) for example.

I'm thinking about the wheelbase of the car but with a mini having literally a wheel at each corner there is hardly any bumper overhang I hope anyway

If a golf scraped over I'd say a Mini ( we are talking about a British Mini here right not the German excuse ) will piss it.......

It's about leverage. Long wheelbase the problem is more the floor/sills. Short wheelbase and the problem is more the overhangs (bumpers) as their angle is amplified by their relation in size to the wheelbase.

MINI is SWB and short overhangs, plus it's fairly high even if the big wheels give the impression otherwise, so although the overhangs suffer high variation, they're well out of the way to start with.
