is this my thermostat gasket on a 1.4?..

.if so does anyone know the part number please.....

i can only find reference to thermostat gasket not the housing gasket......

ah ok thanks,i can find them.i was looking for a paper gasket the same shape as the housing body lol.....

I think that's for the thermostat itself, I don't know. The one for the housing-engine you need looks a bit thicker than that.

Thing is though, the housings themselves don't last forever. You may need a new one. I'd remove yours, give it a wash and inspect it for cracks etc.

yeah i figured that may be the case....

ill use the 4x4 for a day or so and get it removed to see tomoz...

got the bit off after draining out the coolant

.had to undo the wire loom tube that runs over it and take the earth that runs to the HT lead guide bar over the rocker cover off also,

the water pipe that runs behind the engine has a stupid plastic tab that slots in the tube like a u clip from underneath that you cant see..pulled off the housing enough to be able to get at the o ring.

popped this out with a tiny screwdriver and cleaned up the housing while it stayed in place with wipes.

cleaned the block with a bit of wet and dry.

i got an o-ring from the local motor factors out of a random mixed bag,along with new coolant total cost £5

i had to undo the top hose to the radiator and the rear hose behind the engine only,i also unplugged the thermostat and put the plug to oneside so i could get at the lower engine head bolt with a ratchet spanner

took a hour or so...
