A general update and a few issues which any help would be appreciated

Featured Replies

So I've had my little 1.3 cl mpi mk2f coupe since july and I've nearly sold it a couple of times but when it gets near i cannot as i love it too much and there is so much more i want to do to it.

I havnt had the money to modify it anymore so i just bought an oil filter and oil.

The temperature gauge kept fluctuating so we put a new thermostat in it and it gets up to temperature now.

I paid a man £30 and he repaired a stone chip in the windscreen so rather than being a failure its just an advisory come mot time.

My car still struggles sometimes ie lumpy when pulling away and when cruising it hiccups. I'm thinking maybe the lambda sensor.

Also the heated rear window only de mists the top wire the rest dont demist.

The heater will blow hot onto the windscreen but everywhere else will only blow cold air.

Also when indicating sometimes it makes a buzzy noise and the bulb rather than flicking on the dash stays on.

Sorry tyere is alot to go on but i love this car and want it to last with me for aslong as possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks Thomas

I had a mpi breadvan with lumpy idle and 8mm ht leads are refreshing the vacuum hoses worked a treat

The heaters are meant to do that

The indicators are probably a sticking relay

heaters should do warm feet too :)

Thanks everybody i really appreciate it. What i meant is when i put heat on myself it comes out cold and the only place heat comes out is the windscreen.

Your heaters are fine, they won't blow how air out the side vents.

For the indicators try a new relay, they are cheap and easy to replace.

If you suspect the lambda has packed in then unplug it and see it the car runs better. If it does then it probably wants changing.

Thanks it just seems odd thats all having a heater that only blows out cold air no matter where i stick the toggle. The only place it gets warm is the windscreen.

Thanks again
