New to Polo's but not to VW's

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd say hello, seen you guys at the various shows over the years and having recently bought a Polo for my son I thought I may aswell join up, my son has said he will join also when he gets the car....

So the car is a 1.0L Mk2F (MK3) Hatchback/Breadvan. It is an L reg with a mere 138000 miles on it and is Metallic Green, unsure of the actual colour but I will get some pics posted and I'm sure someone on here will tell me.

The car is tidy enough for a first car and a lot better condition than the Talbot Sunbeam I had at his age.....clue to the age of me there !!!!

So a little bit about myself, I have owned VW's for the last 20+ years my first being a MK2 Scirocco GTi at the tender age of 18, insurance was a lot more friendly in the very early 90's. I have also owned a number of MK2 Golf Gti's, currently own 2 x MK2 Gti's a 1.8 Driver, a MK4 Golf Gti for the good lady and an A4 Sport Avant Tdi as the family car.

Always fancied a little Polo so with the boy coming of age it seemed a good enough excuse to have another VW in the family.

I was supposed to bringing it home from work for my son tonight, it had been parked up for a couple of months but the jump leads on it last week and it started first time and within seconds settled down to a nice quite idle. Went to jump startit again tonight and my mate that I was with connected the jump leads incorrectly resulting in the alternator getting fried on the Polo.........not happy.

Ah well that's all for my introduction, I will get some pics up once I get a new alternator on the car and bring it home..
