This thread is for my other car, sold now but i do miss it. I had it for about a year whilst my coupe was off the road.

When I got it it was in a sorry state, solid shell but subject to some bodged mods and and engine running issue. The car had a decent spec, NZ mpi engine, gt clocks, gt front seats, braided hoses, gt gearbox, teardrop alloys, poly arb blocks 90+ k

not long after it arrived it made itself usefull in the garage by holding the ladders

picked up some needed parts and ran into the first problem

It had been fitted with a ta lowering kit all the shocks were blown and needed replacing but the top nut had been cross threaded and the stub at the top rounded off whilst doing so. in the end we welded a 8mm socket piece to the top so we can hold it in place

Picked up and painted some door handle protectors

some rust treatment

also undersealed the inner arches

it spent quite alot of time like this

I had to rebuild the suspension fully. I replaced:

• shocks springs TA 60/40

• rear bumpstops

• both track arms

• top mounts

• front wheel bearings

• both outer cv boots

• tie rods

• 6n chrome top caps

in solving the idle problem I cleaned the tb and idle screw, replaced the vacuum hoses and bought some 8mm ht leads

When i got it there were no rear cards and i had a hard time getting some. finally did from the local scrappie.

used some spray fabric dye to get them grey

it was such a cool work vehicle, people responded to seeing an old car out earning its keep. I do miss it

The car needs a good clean inside and out.
