Window seal ? door rubber ? door membrane ?

Just had a look and it appears to be none of those! Its wet right in the middle but it soaked through

Just because the battery tray has been done, doesn't mean it won't ever leak again. It only takes a small pinhole to let a suprising amount of water in. One of my older polos had a small rust scab just to the side of the window surround. It had rusted through, so you could see a pinhole. It was enough to completely soak the front footwell.

My gt which I have just sold sprung a leak from the battery tray, even though the tray has been welded previously.

Its raining at the moment and the battery tray is bone dry underneath

I'm gonna have it in a ramp tonight to check underneath but its a pretty rot free car!

I thought the door might be the issue but the carpet is dry near the door and the seal is in great nick

Can you not get in side and have someone run a water hose over the car ?

Can I use silicon instead of tape ? if so what kind ?

I'm going to stuff wiper roll everywhere I think It could come in then pour water over it.

My door membrane is iffy but the door seal is good can water still get in?

Not really no. You can use a double sided tape.

Ok it's tape looks odd as original has some kind of clear adeisive ?

Yes it can as I am doing mine soon as my door cards were damp and I took them off and the the plastic membrane and failed so water was getting in and running down to the bottom of the door and running over the door seal and into the car .. I spent an hour in the car while raining and this was the outcome..

Maybe but both of mine have some kind of clear glue and looks like from factory ..

yeah its self adhesive from new ...its hard to find a good enough one that stands up to the damp though

could also look at butyl tape ...its mega sticky stuff like a uber blu tack , stick that round the door then push the plastic onto it

Just got to the workshop and checked my paper. Its soaked at the bottom of the door... the drivers door is holey anyways so I'll have to grab one from the scrappy

Unfortunately the mrs has a wet footwell in her 07 peugeot 107. I hate this rain lark!!

Mine leaks on the passenger side I think it's the membrane on mine iv tried to seal it with no success iv herd to use double sided tape instead of selant so that's my next step iv also had my battery tray done but if I park facing up a hill I still get a drip mines off the road now full strip down I think good look with yours :)

right I'm getting sick of this now its happend for a few years basically everytime we get heavy rainfall i get wet floors not just on one side but both and in the front and the back, I've tried looking for the leak to no avail and I'm running to my wits end, it seems to be coming in around the front carpets under the dash but i really dont know also I'm getting wet seat belts, yes I've got a sunroof and no it doesnt explain the amount of water. please help before i set it on fire

I feel for you I have one on my bready in the boot for a while now still not found it

I welded up my battery tray and there was a tiny pinhole that caused my feet to still get soaked, just put a tiny weld over the top of the pinhole and all good now.

After I have done my welds I use tiger seal it's in a tube and you have to use a silicone gun it can be painted over and it seals the weld but also flexible. Great stuff car body people use it

I use granville seam sealer usually, but didn't have any then but yes I always paint it on the rear of my welds on body panels to ensure no water gets into the paint/filler.
