Hi all I'm new to forum

i currently have a 02 plate polo 9n and am fed up with the power as there isnt any thb !!!!!!!!!!!

i was wandering what engines can drop straight in like a vr6 lump, r32, polo gti or a golf gti engine and how much of a headache would it be

The 9n engine bay is far more accommodating than earlier models, they have the wide 02 gearboxes from factory, and VW themselves fitted the 1.8 turbo into the short-lived facelift model.

Most if not all parts will be off the shelf, shouldn't require much fabrication if any, just a question of finding the info - You may have to be a bit of a pioneer.

would it be really worth it though??? as i was originally going for a different car to start a project with, either way i would have to spend alot anyway but will it be worth the time and effort with the polo ?

if you were originally thinking of a different car for a project, then thought about swapping the engine in your 9n, you could go for a 9n3 gti as your base

9n3 gti engine setup should be very minimal work to fit that into your shape car using all the mounts, driveshaft's, hubs, shafts etc. from the gti. There must be someone on here who has done it....
