Up for sale is my much loved 1997 polo 1.4 16v openair

I have owned this car for aproximately 8 months. It was a great little summer car and did well at getting me to work and back etc.

The car has covered 115,000 miles and has been well cared for throughout its life. The car has service stamps up to 102,000 miles. I have a large list of all the invoices to the sum of £2912.77 showing that the car has been looked after regardless of cost. These invoices show the car has had a full engine rebuild at 94,000 miles due to a snapped auxillery belt. Also in the invoices is the original sales reciept from when the car was brought from vw in june 1998 for £12000.

As stated above the engine was rebuilt only 20,000 miles ago and runs beautifully. There is definitely no reason to worry about the strength of this engine and I'm sure it easily has another 50,000 miles of life left in it. I have recently done an engine service including oil, oil filter, spark plugs, air filter and new coolant. Head gasket and timing belt were replaced at 94000 miles so there is no need to worry about those either.

The clutch and gearbox were replaced last month (by myself, trained mechanic) due to the fact that the last gearbox developed a fault (common on these polos)

The interior of this car is spot on. I am a non smoker and believe this car has never been owned by one. There are no rips, tears or burns in the sports seats which have great support. The only fault I can say is that the driver side bolster has become slightly worn which is very common with these types of seats however this is only very slightly.

Bodywork is of reasonable condition for a car this age. The front is quite stonechipped most of the larger ones I have filled in and it is only noticable when up close to the car. The rear left arch has developed some corrosion in which I have repaired myself by stripping back to the bare metal applying kurust and respraying I will admit this is not a professional job however it is not noticable and has hopefully kept the problem at bay. Also there is a small dent on the front left wing about 4 inches in length, this can be removed by a dent specialist or a new wing is 30 pounds from euro car parts plus paint

The car has got a full openair sunroof fitted which is electric and fully working. It does not leak at all even though there are 2 very small rips in the material which I have done a repair on. Other features include electric windows, central locking and a head unit with ipod connectivity.

Other things I have recently replaced include the exhaust hanger and the ignition switch which had just become worn due to age. I have also applies metal pressed number plates to the car which I find make the car look much cleaner.

The car comes fitted with the standard 14” alloy wheels. The rear tyres are getting slightly old and will need replacing fairly soon, the front tyres are brand new.

The car has mot untill august 2014 and tax untill march 2014

I believe I have been as open and as honest as I can in describing the condition of the car.

, 5 door, 16v open air with metallic paint, just missing air con. Glws.
