I'm looking for some new tyres, found some Nankang AS-1 165/45 R15 72V XL for a decent price online.

Currently running Nankangs on my 13s and grip is good enough.

Only thing I'm concerned about is fitting XL rated tyres when it's not necessary.

Was hoping to fit them on a 7j rim.

Found this photo but can't tell if they are XL, also a 7j rim.

Will the XL rating affect the fitment/ stretch?

I used to run xl tyres on my t4 van, xl's are for heavier vehicles not really small cars like polos, if their xl, it will be stamped, xl or reinforced on the sidewall of the tyre. cheers, gaz
