Evening everyone, just saying hello.

Got my Polo last October when a mate bought a new Fiesta Zetec Ecoboost. As I helped him get such a good deal he let me have my Polo for nothing (to be honest, he was offered nothing for it as a trade in...)

I've never had a VW before and so far I am very happy with it, my friend had had it from new so I know it is a genuine 1 owner car. It is a 2000 X reg Polo 1.4 TDI, seems to run on air (no matter how hard i drive it i can't get it under 55 mpg) and is perky enough for my daily trudge up and down the A14. Genuine 77k on it and mechanically and bodily fine.....the electrics however are a different story, with the central locking and electric windows seemingly shot! Hopefully there will be some good advice on here to help me solve these! Just changed the cambelt as a precaution and just plan to run it till something major goes, then we will see....

Welcome to the club. Yeah, TDI can be pretty amazing. Engine will probably outlast the car. Is it on QG2 longlife oil service too?

Nothing can make the A14 fun! It's such a boring road

Welcome along dude, problems with the electrics in the doors are common on these, sure you'll find something in the tec. section :)

Hope you changed water pump with belt. 1.4 tdi's are super cars.
