I want to move my battery to the boot. I haven't got a clue how or were to get the stuff to do it any tips would be appreciated

It makes technical sense to leave it in the front.

But if you must move it in the name of cosmetics, its as simple as it looks. No different than it is now. It must be secured to the body, it needs the earth bolted to the body, and you'll obviously need a longer live cable to reach from the starter motor to the battery.

scrapyard bmw will have some suitably long cables

battery should be sealed so it cant vent fumes into the cabin , and make sure its bolted down good so it cant kill you in a accident

Will it have an affect on voltage as its just that little bit further from start motor etc ?

Provided you use an appropriate cable then there's no problem voltage wise. It really is a simple job.

As above, mount securely in the boot, cable to positive, earth to chassis in the boot.

Also steavo... what fumes can it let out? Its in range if the heater so would get suked in anyway no?

depends on the type of battery, youll soon know if its gassing, stinks of rotten eggs haha.

can happen if you overcharge it ect its just what happens during the chemical reaction in a lead acid battery, gives off sulphur which has the rotten egg smell, obviously i work with much bigger batteries so you notice it alot more

fumes is just a thing that happens with batteries , the can be flammable/explosive

by rights you would need a sealed battery , or the style with a little pipe going outside the car and the batt in a sealed box

plus the acid burns if you roll the car over lol

Ah okay, but it doesn't do it any harm does it? I suppose it would let the water drain through easier..

Use heavy gauge cable, jumplead size is good, make sure you use grommets anywhere it goes through a hole in the bodywork as if it shorts it won't be pretty.
