run of the mill budget suspension, probably out of the same factory that all the other budget makes are made in. They will be fine in terms of lasting ok. Ride will be harsh. You get what you pay for with suspension.

harsh is fine by me dont mind feeling the road minus pot holes thou :/ and a lower CG should help to make the roundabouts a little more fun

You'll get what you pay for, these kits are pretty shit but last a while and will lower your car so depends what you want

My friend has a set on his mk2 loon and they have been on for over a year and he hasnt had any problems.

Funny old name though.

If they're TA Technix as I strongly suspect, then avoid. The crashy ride quality will get very annoying, its just a matter of how long - id had enough within two weeks.

Depends if car is a daily or not.

I had them on my old mk2 as a daily and it was shit, so I vowed not to put them on my GT.

I'm pressing one of my other cars into daily service so think I'm going to get a TA Technix kit for the GT, the handling and looks were much better but the ride was horrific.

But that's okay in a car that's just driven for fun.

Cheers guys some good feedback there, i gathered id get what i pay for, the originals are way past it, so spongy its shocking! tis my daily and i do enjoy driving so a little bone rattling wont be the end of the world not lookin to slam it just wanted a little drop of 40mm max and tighten her up a little, for what standard replacements cost, think I'm gonna take a punt on the "Bad Grip" ones and come down outta the clouds a bit, i get vertigo when I'm sat in her lol will report back with my findings once there here :)

Standard replacements are better though. They're fine with 40mm springs.

You only need the rock hard shortened dampers if you're going low. Its the dampers that are the problem.

I had one of these shit kits on my Mk2f when I bought it, and the first thing I did when I got it home was take the entire front end apart as something sounded really broken - turns out the kit is really just that bad

I had budgets on my old GT and for the price they were fantastic, they are properly cheap but this does show in the comfort and handling. When I say it shows I mean it was awful, kinda felt like going down a flight of stairs strapped to an office chair.

Personally I would save your self the hassle and just get a decent set first time round, especially if you have any sort of commute.

Just to add to what's been said, i have TA Technix shocks and Apex springs. The ride is pretty harsh, but this doesnt bother me as it handles really well (with yoko a539's), and they were cheap.

I use the car daily and don't really suffer too badly, having said that though i'm 18 and i love how it drives like a kart... My dad can't stand even being a passenger in it haha.

Not having had any street cred for the past forty or fifty years doesn't bad mean good,or did that die with Michael Jackson?
