Intro and FSI replacment

Featured Replies

Hi, - hoping to tap into the knowledge on this forum to aid in what best to do with my 1.4 FSI Polo

look's like the engine has dropped a valve and hence knackered the head and siezed the associated bore - so rebuild is out

finding a replacement AXU engine at a price that matches the value of the car itself is not proving an easy find

So a possible option is to transplant an alternative engine package - economically

hence my quest is - have any of you good folks done a transplant that is both relatively straight fwd and cost effective

any engine configuration or size is fine ( its a commuter car) - as an alternative to the FSI AXU - and if so what's the total package needed - i.e. gearbox / ECU etc.....

My Polo is a 2003 A04 FSI, 9N1 2F4 with engine version AXU to box GKT

many thanks for your advise

Might be easier to sell as spares and repairs as cost of replacing engine and labour will be big.
