I've got a Mk2F bready & was wondering how possible it would be to get the front quarter windows to pop out.

I've seen it done a few times before but not on a 2F.

Thought about this a while back and then forgot about it. Otherwise those pictures would be a good reference for designing your own.

Seems too much hassle, for one if you made your own. You would have to take into consideration the mirrors, due to te early mk1 having mirrors on the door

I think they are awesome and could be done, I cant see the mirror been an issue tbh

The quarter light on my Bug sealed fine.

Mk1 Golf quarter lights are rare as hell, so even using them for parts wouldn't be economical really.

From doing a bit of looking around i think the metal parts (latch and pin hinges) could be sourced new or off of any old car with opening quarters. drill or unscrew from old glass, get polo glass drilled to fit them to. Then source rubber seals with a right angle shape and either try to fit directly to door frame or weld a small frame to fit them to. Might even be able to chop and bodge original rubbers, not sure. the rubber at the front is the other way round to the back too so the glass only point inwards at the front so the mirror wouldn't be any issue, atleast that's how those jetta/golf ones are on the ebay link. there would be a few other things to think about with the door metal but would be interesting to see someone build it.
