Hello my names Anna, I've just last night driven home my very first car.

Its a 2000 polo s 1.4 16v petrol.

I live in norwich and this is gonna hopefully be my work horse for the next few years taking me to work littleun to school and hubby to golf!

Only problem is the from door locks won't key lock, the central locking button works from inside but the key just turns in the lock and won't do anything :( i posted in tech section but have had no replies.

Welcome along sounds to me like you have a faulty lock barrel

Most likely need new locks in the handles, could pick up a pair at a local scrap yard if they have the key or get new paddles (which has has probably broken). Take it to a garage and see how much they would so you get a ruff idea?

Thanks both, I've managed to sort it myself by using a new handle from eBay :). I got a repair list but it was too far mangled for that! Vw garage quoted 75 just to work out what was wrong!
