Hello fellow VW owners,

I have recently purchased a lower grill set for my polo 9n3 but I'm having difficulties with installation.

i can't seem to get the original fittings out. My polo came with fog lights and I don't want to damage them whilst I remove the original grills.

Can anyone help me with this matter please.

Pull on them really hard dont worry the clips wont break theyll just come out. Took mines out when changing my fogs.

thanks! I managed to put the fog light grill on but I'm still having troubles with the lower middle grill.

Its really stuck on there...

any ideas?

In all honesty i didnt take out my middle grill but I'm assuming its the same sort of clips just yank it id say.

Just out of interest the grills you are looking to install honeycomb grills?

yes they are honeycomb grills.

If you could put up a pic when you get them on id appreciate it, I'm thinking of getting a set too.

no such luck with getting the lower part removed, I can feel the clips of the grill but they are very stuck on.

Either I have to break off the current grill or I put the car on ramps and look underneath. However there a plastic guard underneath that section.

I'm going to wait until I have some spare time to look in to it further.

On your fogs there may be a set of screws, look directly at them and it will be between one of the fins so to speak. theres only 1 screw per side. After that they should just pull out.

Give them some force, they wont break trust me!!

its only the lower middle grill that won't come out...any suggestions?

Lower middle will come out with some force needed, when I changed mine to the honeycomb I used one hand on the bumper next to where I was pulling on the middle grill, just start in one corner try the top left corner hand through the slats grab around and pull like I said force is needed

If you still can't get it off, cut one of the slats with a small saw. It'll reduce the strength of the grille and it'll pop off. Thats what I did!!!

managed to get middle lower grill fitted,

my dad helped me cut it out with an electric saw.

looks all nice and flushed...next mod to come is some tints
