Hey all.

I have decided to join as I've recently just purchased a Polo GTi 6n2 and some tips and stuff would be useful lol

Before buying I heard about the gearboxes being notoriously weak on these cars, and within 2 days of ownership witnessed first hand just how crap they are, bit of a shame as I'm loving the car though. Can't wait to get it up and running again.

e30 325i

Golf Vr6

Golf GTi 1.8T

R33 Skyline GTR

A1 S-Line

Yes the famous 'chocolate gearbox' has plagued us all... The only real way of correcting the issues is getting it recon with the rivet being replaced with a stronger one but that does cost a lot.

The dreaded gti gearbox really its me of ever having one.

This is definitely something I will look into, are there any links/info on this. Also anybody had this done?
