hi all VW noob needs help

Featured Replies

Hi guys I'm Lee from near York, I've just been out and purchased a mk2f polo saloon, the lad I've bought has started doing a ahf conversion and most of the parts are there to complete it, it needs a rear engine mount, which I understand I need a custom one making? or a second hand one, if anyone has one of them pm me it would be a massive help, also I need some front brakes, will I be ok to use gt brakes or I will want something bigger? and also need some clocks which I've been told I can use gt ones again? any info anyone has for me would be a massive help I've hardly touched a Volkswagen before but I'm handy enough will the spanners working in a Vauxhall dealership, cheers everyone

A Very Warm Welcome Lee :clapping:

Not sure if you'll need a custom mount for the AHF. As for the brakes all MkIIf/MkIII Polos came with VW I calipers, which aren't the most powerful but have always stopped me. VW II calipers from Golfs etc fit straight on, you'll find sets for sale on here or down your local scrappy.

GT clocks will fit straight in but you have to get the right ones for your year of car (something to do with oil preasure switches, some have 1 some have 2.) I'm sure someone else will be along to give you more answers soon.

Really hope you get your Loon back on the road, they're getting pretty rare now.
