My daughters x boyfriend who is allegedly a mechanic removed her door handles to get them colour coded sprayed.

Unfortunately he did not secure the door handle, as a result the locking part of the handle just pulls right out.

I have been in touch with TPS our local VW parts supplier who tells me the plate that the handle is fixed to must be missing.

A replacement is about £30 which includes 2 seals that fit between the plate and the handle.

I can afford the parts but I am not sure if I could do it myself or if it needs to go to a garage...Moni8es a bit tight and I would appreciate any advise you can give, and hopefully some guidance on how to go about it.

I have tried looking on the internet without success.

Try this it might solve the lock falling out problem. Where are you located? If your not far I could take a look
