Hey guys, I've just brought my first car, a 1.0 MK3 POLO 6N2 in a lovely VW dark blue. I'm planning on getting some lovely alloys for it to sit on, but I'm really not sure where to start.

Here is my car, so you can get an idea:


I understand it is all personal preference, but it would be great if anyone could provide pictures or links to some that look nice.

I'm liking the idea of BBS or BBS style deep dish, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Also, what are the limitations on this particular model in terms of size?

Am i okay on 15/16's? If i went to 17's would i have to make any major adjustments to the wheel arch or ride height?

You have 13s on it at the moment some nice stock se 14" polo rims would look nice. 15" is a much as I would go, even then it would need lowering. 16s would be to big.

I would argue that 16s could work with the right offsets and tyres but may need arch mods.

15s don't need any work, again with the right width and offset.

I run 15x7j with an offset of 25 with no problems whatsoever (To give you an idea you can see them in my profile PIC <---

I think you could get up to 15x8j with right offsets

GTI BBS rxIIs are a nice OEM look or as above 16v SE alloys (6spokes)

When you go from standard wheel and tyres to aftermarket replacements dont forget to consider how far from the norm the overall outside tyre diameter will be. This will affect speedo reading; the bigger the tyre the slower the rotational speed over any given distanceand so, the slower your speed will read.

I&#39;m only stating this cos 5mph can mean all the difference to a speeding ticket and points.

is a really easy to use site that shows you the difference between wheel setups.

based on my current set up when my speedo reads 30mph i am actually doing 30.64 and at 60mph, I am actually doing 61mph which is well within tolerances of cameras.
