Windscreen Scratches

Featured Replies

Hi, the roof has had the edging tiles resat so all the sand and grit has blown off onto my car windscreen, so when iv turned the wipers on iv got scratches all across it now. Well thats my theory.

My GF's clio is much worse than mine, just wanted to know what my options are.

Iv heard of polishing it out, but I'm reluctant to do it myself as i dont want to create an uneven winscreen, which could be dangerous in the sunlight.

Insurance, would they cover it? I'm with Adrian Flux at the moment, renewal soon.

Replacement is around the £100 mark from what i have found out, but how good are these when compared to the VW factory fitted?

Would it be covered on home insurance?

Any input is appreciated.

Don't know about insurance but my local scrapyard did it for £80, that included the fitting and it didn't take long at all. He claimed that the glass came from the same people who provide to the other replacement services.

they wont polish up , best claim on the insurance if you have cover
