I think it's an awful idea. There is no way of immediately knowing if a vehicle is taxed it not.

As well as the paper disk being abolished, selling a car with tax will be too. Tax will not be able to be transferred to the new owner.

I'm still going to run a tax disk, going to fit one from the year the car was made :)

And I wonder why the Clup Polo tax disks were on sale :P

Whoever has a stock load of tax disc holders needs to shift them pronto.

Like Maxima, I'm gonna run a period disc. I've got an 85 one for my 85 which is technically wrong because it's first disc would have expired in 86, but meh.. it has a B-reg plate so..

Road tax should be stopped altogether in my opinion.

I guess now traffic wardens will be given ANPR scanners to check cars for tax. So that means they will also be able to check for MOT and insurance too.

And not being able to sell a car with tax is just another way for the government to grab in those extra few pence.

Watch the sales of glass polish rise slightly in October as everyone tries to clean off the sticky residue left by the original tax disc holders.
