ok first off is, i come from an A3 so is the DIS the same as the MFD?

Mfd I'm not fully sure but I think it's vw version of the Dis named multi function display?

Most of the wiring will be there as it's a CAN driven display, the only things you'd need is the MFD control/select/reset switch (wiper stalk??) and an external temp sensor

Ok, I was going on the wiring diagrams for the 9n3 and it listed a seperate diagram for the MFI speedo, with the wiper stalk control, which you obviously have.

So fitting the A3 style unit might be possible with quite a bit of wiring changes and if it would even fit in the dash opening??

I'm confusing myself now! Sorry, so do I have mfd? As I'm looking to do the cruise retrofit, and I thought mfd was the orange screen, maybe I have just seen the wrong photo in google!

As far as I can find, the display you have, you can with the wiper switch call up the likes of the ext temperature, fuel consumption distance to empty etc? in the lower LCD, that picture you have posted going on the jpeg file name is from a 2007 Polo Gti so it might be easier to retro fit??

Yea that's what I was looking to retro fit, sorry I should of been clearer. Now I have VCDS, but who can correct the mileage on the clocks if I was to find one with the middle computer ?

Do you have the part number by any chance? I might do it at the same time as cruise control save having the dash out twice. Is the immobiliser in the instruments on these aswell?

I don't have a part number as vagcat stops @ 2005 and the Russian online version does'nt want to translate so it's impossible to tell the correct one!!

The immob is in the speedo unit so you would need to the pin code from VW to reprogram!!

All depends on the stealership, in theory they should'nt have a problem selling you the code!!

What about mileage correction of the speedo? Do I need special software or Is that dealer only?
