Louis' 6N2 student build

Featured Replies

Here is my silver 6n2 that I got for an absolute bargain.

I'm currently a student so income is slow but any money goes straight into the car. I have already bought some mods for it inc;

-BBS RA 15" alloys.

-Wind deflectors.

-Rear black/carbon badge.

-Black vw grille.

I am wanting to do further mods inc fitting my exhaust. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Here is the transformation of my alloys.....fitting some stretch on there so no worries about overspray.

Also some pics of the ride. Please come join the build!:)

Nice stating point dono bout d exhaust tho

  • Author

thanks man, yeah I just want abit more sound really man and a few extra horses

back boxes don't add horsepower

I like the wheels though and clean looking car

  • Author

Add sound, the less restricted air flow can also help gain the tiniest bit but I'm more about the sound mate...

Thanks a lot, getting some stretch on them soon!

If you want sound just get rid of a box off you car don't put a big can cos it won't look great on a polo man

Replace the backbox with what?

Get a straight-through exhaust system will be much better

  • Author

But how much will it set me back?? Funds are low

Not gonna lie it will cost a couple hundred, but definitely worth it.

  • Author

That's annoying man it just won't work financially, I will just stick with this backbox I reckon

I mean like take your center box out leave standard back one On and replace the center one with a bit pipe weld it in like look much tidier and will still be loud and if you wanted it louder take back box off and do the same but just Put a tip on the end to look fancy ha

  • Author

Can you use any pipe to do that?

Ye you can bit some thing in around same size would be hanyist for you like a straight bit of a polo or some thing else

  • Author

Okay man and how much louder will it make the engine??

A fair bit man less box's lot more loudness a lot more ha.

  • Author

Okay man when I take her in Thursday I will have a chat and see if they can do some welding for me then;)

Cheers for the advice!

No problem man

  • Author

Just done some research on it and some guy claims that doing that is illegal in the uk???

Any one here know if it defo is or isn't???

I dono cos I from Ireland ha

Are you referring to de-cat'in the exhaust?

  • Author

Yes, I read that removing the pre-cats will increase slight horsepower and also increase sound but removing the whole cat is an MOT failure.

  • Author

Anyone got any details on this???

You will not notice more power it has to be mapped to try get more power out of it with new excused

  • Author

Tbh man I'm more interested in the sound cos there's only so fast a polo can really go haha;) if anyone has any info on this pre-cat removal it would be appreciated!!
