Featured Replies

hi

i have been looking around at old vw as my 1st car was a mk2 golf 1.3 4+5e. one of my customer was showing me his camper van thats in for paint work at the moment and i spotted a nice polo gille and boby showing from under a dust sheet. i asked about it and my customer told me that it was just a audi 50 and was for sale. after picking myself up off the floor i asked to see it. we uncovered it to find a near mint 50.
only showing two rot holes in the front wings. i asked if it was for sale he told me 1300 notes. but theres a box of spares and new grille and two new wings still wraped in plastic from the dealer. id never seen a audi 50 before, only hearing about them and the golf mk2 country sum 10 years ago when i started out in the motor trade at a vw/audi dealership.

the thing is that I'm unsure what its worth. as theres holes in the front wing I'm expection rot / rust under it too but this can be addressed. does anyone now of spares/ history/what swaps to a polo as i would restro its and put some nice coil over on it with some nice banded wheels but the dash could do with some tlc. plus inter finish need more tlc.

also car has been dry stored since 1996

thanks

strong welcome, i come from the same background as yourself working at a Audi dealership,

funny thing is I'm looking for a Audi 50 or MK1 polo for a restoration project. It would be great to

see some photos of its condition.

Need some photos!

If it runs its worth a lot more than 1300

had it running a little but had to get it started with easy-start. but once running sounded nice. i shall try to get some pictures as I'm still trying to find a dry store for it if i do buy it. i shall have a look under side as well does anyone now where these rot at all. as bodywork isnt my strong point.

as for the price I'm really unsure as there's just none about anywhere I'm guessing that these are an investment

Check, arches and engine bay, battery tray and around windows. Anywhere that comes into contact with water.

Just buy it, keep it standard. If it turns out to be too big of a project there is a small army of enthusiasts that will pay the asking price!

Buy it  am sure if you not sure someone of here will come and check it out for ..
