So I had a 6n That I was going to fully Restore. Got to it the other day and there was no arches left, holes all over the floor and genuinely too much for me to do.

I scrapped it and then a day later found this beauty on ebay, The guy I got it off had bought it with the intention to track it, after looking around it for a week he deicded that she was too nice to track and he was going to sell it on and make his money back for what he paid (He owned bought it on the 21st march, I bought it on the 29th...) 66K On the Clock, Tax Just ran out, MOT till September. £750. Full Service History too!

So I have a lot of plans. The First thing was getting her home. I have the front 2 Wheels, (They were bald so he put the steels on so it was road legal).

When I got home, I had a few things to do,

  • Full interior change, Leather VR6 Fronts + Bench, Carpet change (Dark Grey Carpet) All Black Doorcards.

The Doorcards have been sat in my Garage since last year, Took them out (were a bit moldy) Cleaned them, disinfected them and put them in.

Then I put the carpet in, (Fun task,)

I FOUND MY FIRST ISSUE, I took out my carpet to find both Floor Pans having holes in, (Pretty big holes too) So I have someone pricing up welding 2 plates for me or if anyone can help suggest anything else? Other than this, The car is very clean.

Next VR6 Seats. (they've been sat in the old project before I scrapped it, fronts only, the rears have been sat in the boot gathering mold. had to disinfect the seats again) This is a pretty easy job as it's literally one bolt.

Stereo was next, Fitted it in about 5 minutes, Then making sure that the speakers worked to find only one was. I soon found the problem....(I LOVE PREVIOUS OWNERS WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING)

There was a shit load of cables too (i know one was the sub) the other 2 I don't know. There was a white cable too there, and then a couple more speaker cables but there was no speakers to be found.

Immobiliser Remote was broken. It cost me £18 for a new one. That I also broke putting in the battery. (Broke the keyring holder off)

This is all I've done for now, the plans for this month (depending on funds)

  • Service (Parts arrive tomorrow)
  • Machine polish (Tomorrow at a friends)
  • Roof Lining, I have a nice Roof lining going in when It arrives!
  • Welding Floorpans, New Sils,
  • Arches de-rusted, Re-moulded,
  • Underseal after welding.

Further Plans.

  • 16V Bumpers, Front Smoothed,
  • Smoothed Wings, Indicators in Wing Mirrors.
  • De-Wiper (Maybe this week if I get the bung)
  • Remove Arial from roof,
  • Smooth Boot. The previous owner obviously tried, theres a crack where the rear badge usually sits, Need to get it tidied up.
  • Paint touched up. (Now I've found the actual Paint Code and Colour it's not going to be hard)
  • Shave down my Engine bay, I want to try and get a real tidy engine bay.
  • 6N2 or Lupo Dash Conversion (Maybe something else If I see something I really like)
  • Windscreen needs Replacing.

So yeah. I'm really passionate about this car. She's beautiful, and I think when the bits are done to make her look fresh again I'll be really happy.

Anyone have some suggestions on what else I should do with her / could do with her? I'm pretty pooh at this stuff so It'd be nice to have opinions from other people.

Much thanks from a Nooby,

Tom.

Updates! This week I finally got my New Headlining (Photos will be coming when I've fully fitted it :spiteful: )

Also, I was hit in a Head On Collision in 2011 by a lorry, (Still going through solicitors before we go to court) And We asked for an Interim as I'm currently going through the process of a Medical Discharge through the Army ( :-( ) And My New career funny enough Is Driving Touring Bands! I got a letter the other day from my Solicitor telling me I'm getting a bit of money through to buy a van + cover some bills (A bit more than i thought)

Plans I am getting done as soon as it comes through : Welding - Bodywork priorities are the Floor Pans Sils and Arches. Look at getting some Nice lockless door handles. and some 16v Bumpers (Anyone selling them please contact me)

I'm also looking for advice on some 14" Wheels if anyone could possibly put some onto a photo I'll upload that would be great :) heres a photo of how she sits right now, (I'm thinking colour coded handles, removing the aerial too and getting a in-car one!)

Hopefully a lot of work in the next couple of weeks! (Putting the fronts on tomorrow when i get the tyres from the steels onto the fronts!)

UPDATE!

Cars just cost me a fortune, Previous owners had obviously just rushed to get the exhaust on. Didn't realize it was touching the brake lines, Driving along, Lose all pressure in brakes, pull over to see 90% of my brake fluid shot like a water gun all over the road. Had to get a mechanic that day to do it and cost me £200 (Absolutely robbed) They also have damaged my bumper / splitter, also haven't put some things back up. So I'm going to be calling them and saying about the damage they've done.
