1983 VW Polo Coupe Red

Completely standard

66,000 miles

11 months MoT, 2 months tax

1093cc Badged a GT because it was bought directly from factory in Wolfsburg by the previous owner with Rev Counter and Digital Clock which in Germany was a GT until late '83 when the fuel injected version became the GT.

I am the second owner, previous owner was a family friend who had since new and this is my secondary car so only put 2.5k on the clock in 2.5 years, FSH, serviced every year by the same mechanic, I have all the bills and MoT's. Selling because I am moving to a house that does not have a drive.

This year I fitted a new Coil, Dizzy Cap and Rotor Arm, Leads, Plugs and Fuel Filter, and new washer jets and washer hoses.

All electrics work, Gearbox feels amazingly smooth, only advisory on MoT was slight play in strut mount.

Will come with 2 spare wheels both with good tread. Re-sprayed the wheels silver before xmas but forgot to mark where the weights went so the wheels aren't balanced. Only driven the car about 25 miles since and I haven't gone over 30mph and there is no wheel wobble at that speed so can sell as is or will go get them balanced before sale.

Body work has some dents and repaired scratches, still looks good for 31 years old though, shines when polished.

Manual choke has got extra sensitive of late so still works just have to use a light touch (1/2 pull equals full choke). If pulled too far out it lets you know by running abit rough, runs perfect once accounted for and/or warmed up (my last mk2 did this, so I bought an auto choke carb off ebay for £30, took half an hour to swap, ran perfect until I sold it at 166k miles!). Doesn't overheat, even when stuck in a traffic jam on a hot day the fan kicks in and cools it down.

I paid £79 for insurance last year, fully comp, legal expenses and only 2 yrs NCD!

This xmas my fiancé bought me some german style pressed plates and some pressed grey classic car plates so will come with all 3 sets.

I cant get any pics up until after the weekend as I am waiting on a new cable for my phone, will post as soon as it comes through.

Looking for around £1000 (mainly because I don't want to sell it, also i'm pretty sure the mk2's are now starting to increase in value and this is the first year of production)

EDIT;

Taking the photos I noticed some things I just got used to (see photos):

Small area of rust on fuel cap cover

Dent on drivers door

Repaired scratch on N/S/R wing

Repaired are on N/S door

Small plastic rocker cover gasket has oil leak

Also I trusted a friend to re-cover the rear doorcards (small area either side of the rear bench) but he completely warped them out of shape. Will adjust price accordingly.

Forgot to mention that the water pump and cam belt were replaced last year.

Drove the car and 45mph has no wheel wobble either.
