Finally found a Polo mk2f fox van,getting rare! Only problem is its in devon and i live in sussex.

I have a company that will pick it up and bring it to me for £230 (i think that's reasonable)

However I'm not sure how things work..

Do i need to go with him to sign the v5???

Is it sorn do i need to ring DVLA and say I'm the new owner and re sorn it?

(i haven't bought the polo yet,i just need to make sure everything is in place before i purchase it)

You don't need to be present for vs they can say new keeper not present. until the law changes and it is tabled do do so, you have to re - sorn once you have bought it. Some people have not and mo s t get away with it but they can do you for avoiding the tax if you don't. sorn ends with the sale currently. that I s due to change in the future.

How many miles away is the car from you? I've used Shiply.com a few times, got excellent prices.

Either tell the owner to hide the v5 in the car somewhere, or just give it to the driver, or post it to you. After they've signed it of course.

Whack you're details on it, send it off. Wait for a letter from the dvla informing you that you're the new registered keeper.

Go online. Declare it sorn. Job done.

I'd expect to pay around £130-160 on Shiply.
