What can I do?

Featured Replies

Hello there - new on the forum but have been lurking around a bit of the last few weeks.

I've had a 56 plate 9n3 as my daily runaround for the last 18 months or so, no real problems with it except for the brake switch that I changed out last week.

Beyond something simple like that, I know *very* little about cars, I have no car specific tools, and little car knowledge...

..but....

I'd like to learn more, so I figured I'd be able to change, upgrade, spruce up different bits of the car but I have absolutely no idea where I can start/what I can do.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can start with, at least? Small, easy, upgradey jobs on the car? Aesthetic and/or performance... Ideally something that won't cost me tooooooo much (at first!) and something that won't be the end of the world if I screw it up...

Thanks!

Welcome along. If you want to start of small, maybe fit an induction kit as they're pretty simple. Update your bulbs, fit a new headunit and upgrade speakers, new wheels

cheers! time to get stuck in

If your just starting off there is nothing worst than getting half way through a job and then not having the right tool to finish it. I recommend purchasing a large 150+ piece socket/spanner set. Depending on your budget Halfords Advance Professional set are good quality, come with a lifetime guarentee and are 50% off at the moment.

Also if Hynes make a workshop manual for your car get one, they retail at about £20 but can usually be bought on eBay for a couple of quid. I paid 75p for my Mk2f manual :)
