We have all been there while looking through the classifieds on forums not looking to buy anything "just seeing whats out there".you know what happens next, something catches your eye and you have to have it. You start to convince that voice in your head that you don't need it but then the devil on your shoulder whispers "what are you thinking ? you need this ! It would be wrong not to, treat yourself."

Normally its a set of wheels for me, however this time it was a brown ratty mk2 saloon.

It was up the other end of the country and had no tax and no MOT however that didn't deter me.

So long story short in a moment of madness I brought it ! Got it transported from Cumbria to Hertfordshire on the back of a flatbed only having seen photos not the car in person, however the seller was extremely honest and was in better condition then expected.

So here it is

Its a 1.3l 5 speed cl with brown interior but sadly has a black dash

I don't know the colour name so any help would be great

It was far from perfect but that just adds character

A list of problems so far

• Running like s**t !! has a Weber from a 1l
• Collapsed front dampers
• Alot of play in front hub
• Trackrod ends need replacing
• Oil leak
• Roof has lacquer peel
• Rear light lets in water
• Has no rear seats because race car!! ​

A shopping list was quickly made and work is well underway ! I will post an update when the majority of the work is done.

It's quite rough around the edges just picked good photos , will put up some anti-glamour shots up soon

Ramp photo was from two owners ago , so Wales I think . And not going to paint the roof black there's no clean line to break the colour so it would look shit aha

From the service history and receipts it came with it looks like it was well looked after.

It seems someone tried to make a track car or something out of it, I have the feeling it was on bike carbs at some point in its life .

would be nice to know what has been done previously.
