hi guys been on here for a while now since i had my 6n that my brother now owns and had plenty of help due to this forum, got an 89 coupe s that my other half got me for my birthday and all way well untill the end of august when i was coming back from work and the gear linkage went ( i was using it to get to work as my mk4 golf was in the garage) so i got it recovered by the guy that was fixing my golf so i thought this would be a safe bet he dropped my golf off and and picked up the polo. I have had work done before at this garge so thought it would be i a good idea for them to look at it i know they are mega busy due to getting lots of work from police contracts so i told him i would be away for a couple of weeks and for him to ring me with a price so i can give him the go ahead and i would pick it up when i am back no rush as he knows i have another car. this is where the fun starts the tax ran out so i asked to to tow it back at mine and i left my mum the money, i get a phone call a few hours later from my mum saying that the car is at the top of the drive and the guy said it was undriable and unable to get it in the barn i was really confused as i had been driving this car for a few weeks before to and from work and if it was fine to low but that was my next job. so i got back to mine that night and me mam said that he would not drive it down due to it having no brakes, so i just thought he did not realise that it had no servo and you have push alot to get braking as it is stil on vw1 brakes. so excited like a child to get back in my mk2 i ran up the drive and A. the gear linkage was not fixed i asked for a new gear linkage kit to be fitted it was like a bowl of porridge and the gear stick leaning to the right i can get gears but at a guess at what i am going to get so i manged to get it down the drive and put her away and the brakes only just worked and then at a later inspection me and my brother noticed they had drained all the fluids out of her and i got rather angry phoned the guy and he just put the phone down and was going to go down ther to stick the phone up his arse and give him what for but managed to see sense,

. now she has been sat in the barn since and i was going to sell her and get rid of the golf due to i have just moved in to a new house with my other half and get a dirty derv but the summer is back and i have the bug again and think i am going to use here for my commute but i have no time to do any work on here bits and bobs but as for dropping the engine no chance i only get a monday off at the min so please does anyone know of a good mechanic or vw specialist in my area ( chesterfield ) and i need parts spring and shock kit a needs to be a comfy ride as the country roads around here are a nightmare and the ta are shaking my teeth out and the other half will not even go in it lol, some vw2 brakes etc qand a servo if possible, i have some polished tear drops just need tyres, arb blocks, poly bushes a new exhaust and the webber carb could do with a tune then some nice seats and i am away and should be enjoying her for the summer and hopfully get to some shows but i have no idea where to source parts or trust many mechanics now, but i figure if i can source some parts of here and what not and find a good mechanic it should not cost me too much and sell the golf as i cant keep two cars at the moment and dant want to get rid

any help appreciated guys i know your all busy i will try and get some pics up asap and i am in derbyshire chesterfield

ok guys think this is my parts list

• vw2 brakes and brembo or green stuff pads
• ap springs and shocks 40/30 drop or bilstein b12 + b13 springs + new top mounts
• nankang 165/55/14 tyres
• new gear linkage kit
• gladder arb blocks
• poly bushes, tca, arb, rear axle and rear top mounts
• exhaust
• headlights
• seats
• carb tune
• stage 2 sub frame
• mk3 golf rear drums

Then fingers crossed it goes through mot nicely and then port and polish, high comp pistons and gt cam but that will have to wait or the other half will have a heart attack and when i sell the golf and get the polo up and about that will release some more funds and save me petrol, never buy a mk4 golf 2.0 gti, i want to do this as cheaply as poss but without cutting corners or doing a shody job, struggling to find parts tho think i have found a vw/audi specialist in somercotes near me then just need the carb tuning and a service

Look mate I'm really sorry if this sounds a bit Lazy but I really couldn't be arsed to read through all that text,

Can't you summarise what it is you actually want then if I think I can I will read more??

I am obviously not the only one judging by all your responses......
