Need help, I'm replacing a door and cant get it on straight?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a replacement door for my MK2F breadvan but I cant seem to get it on perfectly straight. The door opens and closes fine but part of the door is hitting the trim on the roof. I've tried loosening the bolts and adjusting it but I just can't seem to get it perfect.

Here's some pictures:

And here's a pic of the other side to show what it should be like:

Any ideas?

get some pics of the door gap along the wing and quarter panel

Okay I'll go do that now...

There isn't any adjustment thats why, other than moving the catch pin around, but that's limited...

Try putting a washer inbetween the hidge's. The bottom 1 only.

The door is from a coupe, is it possible that it wont fit a breadvan properly?

bit strange , was expecting the gaps to be all over the place

Yeah me too. Do you think its because it's from a coupe? Or maybe the door is bent?

bent car or door is my guess , pretty sure the doors are all identical

any evidence the old door has any repair work on it ..or on the new one? does the glass wind up well ?

The old door has a big dent on it, that's why I got a new one. I can't see signs of repair on the new one and the glass winds up well.
