Hi, hoping someone can help. Just bought a 2nd hand 61 plate polo bluemotion, traveled 145 miles home and in the last 100 yards my rear fuel filter started leaking! Looks like a stone impact as there's dint and a drip.

Ordered the replacement from vw and intend to replace the part myself.

I've heard you should depressurise the fuel system first by running the car with the fuel pump fuse out.

But I don't know which fuse this is? my fuse box has two long rows on the left and 3 short rows on the right.

Because i'm lovely i did a google search http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=56363 i think you just flip the diagram over if your fuse box is mounted the other way up. Someone might correct me so worth checking back, should know soon enough though if your car stops running. Personally i haven't depressurised my fuel system, just had a rag and a jar on the ready for the fuel to spill into when taking the pipe off and most importantly made sure to keep away from eyes. But that's entirely up to you to risk. Hope it helps.

Many thanks joe420, just completed the repair, Didnt bother to bleed the system in the end as i reckoned the pressure would have bled out through the hole in the filter anyway. there was a trickle of diesel but that's all. this is really handy to have tho for the future.
