-PLEASE HELP!!-

my fan dosn't seem to be kicking in on my 1993 mk2f!

was working completely fine then just starter overheating, had a new timing belt and water pump not long ago, cold it still be the problem?

the coolant does not seem to be being put back into the header tank, could there be a blockage somewhere?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

what do you mean bleed it out mate?

do you mean take the cap off the header tank and start it up and bring it to temperature and let the air boil out?

Yes mate. Squeeze pipes with cap off. Start with engine cool though.

I doubt that will solve the fan not kicking in, but I think it would solve overheating issues if the fan was kicking in but it still overheats..

Nice cheap thing to try though to see if it does work.

Stuck thermostat could stop the fan kicking in because the water won't be circulating the radiator to get the the fan switch. But yeah its worth sticking a couple of wires to the fan from the battery to check it works as a first step.

Could also be the radiator fan switch. pull the plug off the radiator fan switch and bridge the + to - using a bit of wire. if the fan works then its the radiator fan switch
