Hello Polo people

In july myself and two friends are driving a 1998 1.0 Polo we managed to bag at an auction for only £150 from the UK to Mongolia. It's a 10,000 mile trek for charity and a bit of adventure.

We'll be doing a few bits and pieces to the car before we leave (sump guard/skid plate, roof rack etc) and getting various spares. I figured I'd come on a Polo forum and introduce myself because at some point I'm sure I'll need to post for advice!

On that note, if anyone has any advice or suggestions of things to do let me know :)

Are they on this forum? We know one other team in the Portsmouth area but they're going in a 2000 Yaris they paid over £1200 for!

I so want to do the mongol rally, I'm quite envious, fair play for doing it. I'd read a few of the books on it, they're a good read and will highlight some of the issues/problems you may face.
