hi i have posted up pages before but thought i had best start a new thread for a new car this is my new/old mk2 polo i have owned her just short of 5 months and have loved every second she is my pride and joy 1982 vw polo mk2 breadvan here is how i bought the polo

this is 1 week after owning the new polo i decided to go all out and do an engine swap in 1 day with no crane and hardly any tools apart from my friend the mechancical dan

i seemed to have forgotten to take any other pictures while we were doing it but heres how it looked after a quick spruce up and repair

started to sort the brakes out and fix the things that will keep me alive

gave her a damn good wax and polish and she came up rather amazing

started to take the interior to peices and tidy it up and clean off all the mould from it being stood for so long

tcuted and polished my rear seat panel to make it look shiny out of boredom

all of the interior out

minty fresh never used spare wheel was so suprised when i found this

interior finally back in after a damn good clean

gave the engine bay a lick of paint and a polish while i was at it

no parking dents :)

awaiting final parts and repiars before mot

new parts arrived and thought i had best put on a club sticker

bought some new wheels a while back and finally decided to fit them they look great :)

more new wheels i know she failed her mot the other day with only 10 marks but i have managed to source a original engine for the beast so all the original parts are ging back on and shes going back to standard except the wheels and the suspension otherwise its going original heres how shes sat atm

well delila is now in the car heaven but not to worry polo number 5 is here to stay

exhaust: custom racing exhaust

engine: fully rebuilt gt conversion with 8k chip poted and polished and de-wedged

interior: fully original cream interior

steering wheel : porsche 944

shocks and springs : fk shocks and springs 80mm

gt rear axle... to be fitted

g40 brakes to be fitted

looking for help reapiring my crank shaft pulley side oil seal as its leaking badly do i need to remove the engine to change this ? and is it a easy job or an absolute pain any help or wise words would be apprecited cheers

update for today been trying to figure out the whining noise from my engine sounds like it has a supercharger could this be caused by the fact i have no belt cover on or is my water pump causing this really concering also looking for a full gt wireing loom unmolested and a gt ecu any help would be appreciated cheers again

If its the cambelt side oil seal then it can be done engine in, if its the gearbox side then its so much easier to take the engine out because its a box off job.

As for the noise it could be the water pump or alternator. If its the water pump its either the cambelt being way too tight or a cheap pump. If its the alternator it will maybe the bearings which can be buggered by the belt being too tight or just that its getting old and full of shit lol

it has a brand new alternotor on it but the water pump was a cheap replacement part and the belt is very tight

Loosen the belt a bit then
