I believe I have one mate

It's off a mk2 1 litre but it was a mech head engine so should be the same

Still has carb on it also

There's a few different sorts, main difference is how many bolts hips your carb on.

It had the wrong inlet manifold on it when I bought it, had two extra holes above the two centre inlets that the engine block didn't have holes for (leading to exhaust fumes coming from those holes). So just need one with the four inlet holes, and without the exhaust recycling pipe on the bottom.

If can't get hold of the right one was considering sealing the additional/unused holes with gum filler - bad idea or a reasonable fix?

@StinkyPete - sounds like you have what I need, the carb being on it makes it sound all the better! Apologies if my description of what I need is unclear.

Correction, it's a 1983, 1.1 litre, engine code is HB. Not sure if the additional info helps, but thought it best to supply it.

Mine was from an 83 1049cc engine sure it was also HB code i will try take a pic tomorrow evening so you can see it and make sure it's right

If you want to keep the standard solex carb then the manifold you want is from a mechanical head 1043, code GL. I might have one here, will check.

Sometimes the HB engine has exhaust ports in the head, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the year I think. You shouldn't get anything coming out of the manifold with the extra ports on by the way. The head, if it had the extra holes in sure, but not the manifold. Unless it's connected to the exhaust from underneath?

I had a someone insert some metal dowels in those exhaust ports on the head so I could fit a later manifold with a webber carb.

Thanks - have a pair of Solex PIC(T) 7 carburetors, are they the correct type of carb?

And yes the manifold is connected to the exhaust from underneath via a pipe. So if I was to seal the hole in the bottom that connects to the exhaust - would that solve the problem? And could I seal the additional holes on the inlet manifold as well?
