6n 16v passenger side rear door? Repair or replace?

Featured Replies

I have a dent in my 6n 16v polo passenger side rear door. Was wandering whether it would be cheaper to have a replacemt door or to get the dent pulled out and resprayed?

I've been quoted £150 to get it done in a day.

What colour's the car? Because you could just buy a door the same colour.

It's a silver 16v.

Just buy a replacement door on eBay.

My 9N is silver and I can get replacement doors for £40 + P&P. :)

If no one on here has one, try Stevens VW breakers in Essex, very good :)

how bad is the dent? if it hasnt cracked the paint then take the door card out and push it back out. I've done this about eight times and its only just cracked now. i really should park it somewhere else because everyone reverses into it and drives off

It hasn't cracked the inside I just wanted to get it looking better than what it is. The thing is there is a few bits of bodywork need doing. Front bumper rear number and the arches are rusted and someone has done a shoddy job of repair and sprayed it with a diff colour.

What the best way to repair the bodywork. I hear that glass fibre thing is good. Never really done bodywork and want to do it all myself. (If possible)

Pic of the door. Front and rear bumper and rear arch. Loads of other lol dinks and Niks and more rust. Most of it look repairable. Don't know bout the door.

Any hints and tips would be great.

I have taken door card off but didn't want to remove the original insulation/ foam thing covering it. ( don't ask why) if it is worth to airing might just take it off and push it out and sand and fill it, prime it and spray it.

As In previous post all pics are there and any help would apprcitated

I'm no newer polo expert, but from a body repair viewpoint - repair the bumpers and change the door for a better one is your best bet.
