Axle Stands and Trolly Jack Points on a 9N3

Featured Replies

Going to be working on the front brakes this weekend and thought I would ask about the best spots to jack up the car and put it on axle stands. In the past I have had no problem choosing spots but with my new polo I am a bit more cautious due to the abundant stories on the internet of axle stands going through the floor of polos. Just wondered if you could tell my the spots you guys use?

Hi Nigel, thanks so much for your help. Just to confirm, is that the sill or the part just behind the sill? I've seen lots of posts where people have bent the sills so a bit worried about jacking there. Is there enough space on it to fit both the jack and axle stands or is there another place they can be put? Would the front subframe hold the axle stands or jack? Sorry if these sound like noob questions, I had no problem with cars in the past, just want to make sure with my polo.

It's on the joint of the outer sill, but the front subframe is just as good
