Hello and welcome to my thread

So about a month ago my 1L shitter decided to give up on me (gear selector cable snapped)

here's a couple of pictures of her. (she is up for sale!)

Here's a shopped photo when I got bored one night.. StaticFam :db:

So then after 7 months of looking for a new polo, viewing a few and changing my mind at the last minute on some wanting the 'Perfect one' dying to get my hands on a Mecarto blue one, I stumbled across this little puppy on Gumtree, a 1.4 16valver.

So off I went early in the morning to go pick it up feeling like a lost kid on the train not knowing where I was going and so on, I was picked up and taken to her. It was owned by a Polish dude and previously an old biddy, you guessed it right.. and absolute minter! I'm talking brand new front brakes, rear drums, new exhaust, no advisories, never smoked in, with a new £200 service, 6 months tax and a years MOT!

I got home and was determined to get started straight away, First thing was to change the grills and splitter!

Decided to change wheels whilst I had time before work..

I drove it to work the next day and my mates were all taking the piss saying about how high she is asking when i'm lowering it, I wanted to get new FK's as my current ones are shitty budget ebay's, but a few days went and I needed to get this thing lowered as the body roll was insane! but not twatspec low as I want to keep it decently tidy! But I went to take the passenger strut off and rounded both bolts.. yes, pissed off I am! so will need to get new bolts!(where can I buy lower strut bolts?)

So that day I was going to polish and clean up my Xenon's but couldn't be arsed and got them fitted.

What's the best solution to get these gleaming again? they be so hazey

On the weekend just gone I decided I missed having a decent stereo and bass as it had a poop tape player, off I strolled to Halfrauds and picked up a new one from the clearance cabinet and Amp wiring. got home and found there was no wire harness.. so I had to source and buy one! last night I wired up and tucked all the wires away neatly front to rear. Got home today and the harness was here and I quickly got it wired in, just a temp until I get a double din one! (any recommendations?)

Oh and I also de-badged(still needs finishing) and de-wipered the rear!

So that is all for the time being, there will be lots to follow and very big plans for this!

not going to be like any of the others I hope, just need to save save and save!

Nice nic

If your talking about hazy headlights start at 1000-1500 wet both directions one at at time do the same with 2000 and so on as high as you want, depending on patience. Finish with some compound should lose that hazy ness, brings them out nice if you put the time in. I just bought new ones haha

Hi mate, thinking of changing my front splitter soon.

Is it an easy thing to do? when I took my front bumper off to change headlights I saw a lot of clips etc.

cheers mate.

Yeah, makes such a difference! Just a fiddly job.. When putting it back on I just hit it on with a bar that had a soft end

Haven't had a chance lately to update so thought i'd do it now as I have time to rest after getting back from avon/bournemouth beach sun burn't to a bitch!

So a few weeks ago I went to London as my partner took a family friends daughter to a concert, will not name who.. lel.

Gave her a quick wash, didn't get around to polishing but she seems to shine quite nicely so will get a day to give her a full machine polish also.

Whilst waiting around I decided to go into central London and locate the Graffiti underpass and waste some time!

Boy did it bring back some memories from my younger ages doing Graffiti!

So being a photo whore while someone was painting away I took a few photo's but this made me decide it need to be damn lowered!!

So yet another week went and I was getting annoyed with my other polo not selling but it eventually went..0F2EED9F-B251-4DB4-8CF2-6669C8C24BC2_zps

Off went the money and off it went straight into the bank account for some FK's, all done and sorted with top mounts!

Last thing I need to source is 4 lower strut bolts as I have rounded two due to using 12 point sockets instead of 6 point like an idiot.

where do I get some polo guru's?!

Will be a few more updates to follow next week I hope once payday comes round!

If you want the proper bolts you'll have to get them staight from vw but tbh you could probably get some similar from your local hard wear store just make sure you use nilock nuts I think they will be m10s or 12s But not sure. Hope that helps

So just another update since, had it go in for a service and now need a cambelt doing which is a super pain in the arse when my funds are low, also give her to a friend whilst working to let him get his washing mitts on! come out like a mirror which I was very happy with.

So the better up date, which I'm more than annoyed about.. but the coilovers are on!

follow by pressed plates, led rear plate bulbs and heko wind deflectors.

and then on went some scene tax stickers, I like big gay stickers.. they make you stand out, not always in the best way.85E32CAD-F454-4714-82CA-863773C79ABB_zpsAE0953CA-34C0-4E71-B4D4-C2B23F73709C_zps

So I'm a little pissed off with how it's sitting, you wouldn't believe it but that's as low as the rear will go and the fronts have another 30mm.. reason being, THEY SENT ME THE WRONG COILOVERS! so I'm onto them like glue trying to get this sorted as I need it lower.

but to cheer me up, I got it Pixar'd.

Yeah he's sending me JOM's to replace as they have no FK's in stock at the present time:( and thanks dude!

  • Author

Okay so some people may have seen my most recent updates through insta and Facebook.

So the FK's are being sent back as they are mk2's not mk5's, he's sending me JOM's to replace them! So I hope to have it lower next week.

And also this happened, got it done much quicker than I had hoped!
