Ignis Sport, The Tuppywagon

Featured Replies

Hi all, thought id stick a thread up on my car now i think i might be keeping it.

Came across it by accident, went to the dealer to see about an ibiza for my mate and they had this tucked away at the back of the yard, looking sorry for itself, covered in tree sap, leaves and bird turds. Also had a few crap stickers on the mirrors and bumper, but they soon came off.

As you can see, looks a bit rough. Traded in my Ibiza FR for it, got the ignis and £1k so i was happy, managed to get lost on the way home with the fuel light on, cue a panic drive down the A64 to find a petrol station, ended up paying £1.47 a litre for some BP ultimate, the robbing bastards.

Got it home after that, and finding out that it didn't much like going over 60, the front end would go really floaty and the steering wheel would pull whenever it fancied, i was thinking i'd bought a dog, turns out the previous owners hadn't been too kind on the enkeis, one has a lovely flatspot on the outer lip, so I'm on the lookout for a replacement.

My mate was chuffed because he'd been wanting to buy one of these to replace his swift sport. I'd Told my self it was going to stay standard as a daily runaround, but i couldn't help myself, firstly i changed the majority of the bulbs for LED's, then bought some Jap plates and gave it a really good clean, the insides smelt horrible, gave me a huge headache driving from wetherby to leeds, which is only about 10 miles, so it got wetvacced and all the interior plastics scrubbed with G101, the white windows surrounds were grey before i started, the headlining was stained with tar and shite from it being smoked in, so that got G101 and wetvacced aswell.

Bodywork was washed with Gold Class, clayed, cut with SSR2, glazed with Black Hole and waxed with Natty's Red wax.

Then replaced with enkeis with some unknowns off a rover 25, they were only supposed to be temporary, but i think the suit the car.

It stayed like that for a bit until it went in for its MOT on tuesday just gone, it passed so i thought id start tinkering a bit further, decided to spray the wheels satin black and tints the rear lights and side repeaters, to make it look more agressive.

And thats how it sits ATM, just saving up for coilovers and a stainless exhaust which should see me through enough time to save up for some power mods.

Cheers, Jamie.
