9n2 - Soggy wing mirror indicator

Featured Replies

In the process of making my new 9n2 look beautiful! The driver side wing mirror had a load of water and gunk in it so I set to work getting it out with a cloth and toothpick, probably fiddled around a little more than I should have done. End result - most of water and gunk is gone, but indicator no longer works.

Any advice/ suggestions on how to fix or what I've likely done? I've wrapped the wing mirror in a bag of rice overnight (like a pro) to remove any remaining water.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum.

Unfortunately, I don't have any knowledge of, or information on your model, but at a guess, I would say that you have managed to push some of that gunge into a connection, which will mean stripping and cleaning.

If the main indicator lamps on the same side are still working, it would seem that the fuse is still in tact.

Regards

Its pooped. There is a led strip round the indicator water kills them. There is probably a hairline crack in the lense somewhere. You can replace just the indicator part but be carefull when you strip it down not to destroy the mirror glass.
