How i got it...A couple of very badly filled and painted holes..

I bought some baby g60 steels for it, tried them on and looked sweet but unfortunately they were hitting the springs on the rear :/

So it was off with the g60 steels, and a couple weeks later i picked up some 13" bbs ra's, unfortunately got chipped up whilst being sent by courier but still pretty sweet lookin when on :)

So far i have taken off the bump strips and plastic arch banana's, repaired the holes and sprayed them up, sanded back most of the rusty spots and treated them primered and sprayed them, Still a couple rusty patches left to do. I've put smoked front and side indicators on, new wipers new wing mirror, new inlet manifold being fitted next week, new ignition leads, dizzy cap, plugs, air filter, fuel filter (need to do the oil). I bought a matching colour door but it got smashed up in the courier, so I'm going to sand the one i have back and rattle can it... Just bought a new drivers wing which needs sprayed red and put on. Struggling to get pictures on here because all mine are too big? will get some more asap :) Currently looking for a lowering kit for her but I'm pretty tight on money at the mo. Also where i repaired the hole by the rear window and resprayed it, looks pretty good in my opinion seeing as it was my first try at this, only thing is once i lacquered over it, its like a matte finish compared to the rest of the panel and there is a slight lacquer lip, so I'm considering using a rattle can to spray the whole rear panel, the colour match paint is pretty spot on!

Also want to give the wheels a bit of a refurb and possible respray, not sure on colour but i like the black..
Let me know what you think so far, will keep updating when i can!

Terrible pics of how it is now sorry, will get some tomorrow :)

did you weld any of that rust?

Let's hope so

i wish i could have afforded to weld the holes up, but being in my first year at uni and only a bar job over summer i dont have the money :/ but I'm pretty confident in my filling repairs haha! I sanded down a few patches on the front valance and around the grill and resprayed it over the past couple days, trying to get some pics up but having problems.. hopefully have some up soon :)

Take it you are using rattle cans ?

  • Author

Yeah man colour match rattle cans, reallt surprised at how good they are actually

Did you laquer after ?

  • Author

No lacquer after, I had lacquered over a spot I done by the rear window and it's made it look awful, I made a thread about it and was told that the spray I'm using doesn't need to be lacquered.

Top man a good finish for rattle cans , what brand did you use ?

  • Author

Cheers man, was really surprised myself actually! I used holts non metallic colour match with a couple coats of halfords red primer underneath, gave a really smooth finish :)

Keep up the good work

Today i managed to get the wing I've had for a couple weeks (primered last week) rattle can sprayed in the first couple of coats, looks pretty good so far but i was wondering if there is any sort of finishing coat i should use.., Going to put on one more coat of the colour match paint tomorrow but was wondering if theres some sort of protective coat of something that should be put on it? other than lacquer as i dont need to use it with this paint. Any advice would be cool! Heres a picture of the wing, and i finished the gt style grill off :) the car needs a good clean too..
