Due to a change of circumstances my 525e is now up for sale as I will be needing a more family friendly car in the near future. Its done 169k miles which is way below it’s average, as you can see from the pictures the body work is in excellent condition with no rust, dints or scrapes at all, the paint work is solid and really suits the car in this colour (Bronzit Beige). I use this car every day for 6 days per week covering 60 miles per day up and down the m62 and it doesn’t miss it beat, there’s no overheating, misfiring or hesitancy from the engine, there’s no oil or fluid leaks at all from it and has recently been serviced. The auto box engages gears perfectly fine and changes up and down smoothly with ease. Also being the Eta model it’s actually really good on fuel, I have been averaging about 32 mpg on a mixed run of back roads and motorway, there’s plenty or torque available so you don’t need to push it to make progress through traffic. It stops and starts like a car much younger, tracks straight and pulls up sharp without much effort at all.

It really is as good as it looks in the pictures and attracts quite a fair bit of attention when about, people having a good look and asking about it etc and commenting how tidy it is. It’s solid underneath, there is not rot or nasty hidden horrors anywhere on the car, it’s straight, honest and in great condition. The previous owner from Leicester had this car since 1991 and must have spent a lot of time and money in keeping this a fine example.

There’s 15 stamps in the service book and it comes with the original dealer handbook/ dealership map and owners manual etc, it has the original BMW tool kit in the boot, the spare wheel is in great condition and has the original jack and handle.

The interior is is really good condition, there’s no cracks in the dash like a lot of e28’s have. The door cards are clean and free of damage and the carpets are clean with no stains or rips. The drivers seat does have some wear on the base as you will see in the pictures, but the bolster is fine and the seat is still very comfy even on longer journeys.

The only things I have had to replace since I have bought the car is a squeaky fan belt and a fuse that had corroded over time that caused the speedo to stop working, which is now working spot on.

All the tyres are nearly new so there’s loads of tread and plenty of life left in them and are all the same brand/ tread pattern. The alloys are in fantastic condition and must have been refurbed before I bought the car.

It’s basically a really good example in standard form that you can use every day if you wish (I do without any problems at all), it returns a decent fuel economy, is rare enough to interest people and will never go down in value if it’s kept in this condition, if anything it should only ever go up in value.

If you are looking for an e28, classic beemer or retro car that will be reliable and hold it’s value, and is in fantastic condition you need not look any further!
