Hey all, brought some nice leather seats out of a mk3 golf which I've fettled in my classic. But there heated and I was wondering if I could wire the loom by getting a fuse inbetween and live and earth straight from the battery and then use, what I presume is a remote style wire and splice that into the remote wire for my amp. In my head that makes sense, but I'm very novice when it comes electrics.

The supply is normally taken from the "X" contact relief relay, so when the key is out there is no power to the seats, so not leaving you with a flat battery !!, the normal wiring uses a sensor in the seat to regulate the heat, if you just connect the heater element to a supply it will just get hotter and hotter till it burns your a*se !!

you will need the switch, best place is german ebay.

and kufatec (google it) will have a wiring harness for it. little pricey at 40 euros, but its all already made.

you will also need the little harness and relays for under the seat, i hope that they are already on the seat because these usually sell for more then the seats :) again, german ebay is your friend

I have the wiring harness and the switch, not sure about the relays under the seat ill have to have a look.

Have to look into the X relief relay. Would that of been in the original relay box for the mk3 they came out of I presume?

The "X" contact relief relay is part of the basic cars wiring, it's in the fuse/relay panel
