99 Polo 6k Classic (Saloon)

Featured Replies

Hi names Mike, been on here 2 or more years so about time i made a project thread. I did a while back but it deleted itself when I opened a new tab to copy images! (because I'm using my mobile). So I have to upload images one at a time! Got the car about 2 and a half years ago with no clutch completely standard. Now it looks like this..

IMAG0309_zpsbc9d8635.jpg

Specs so far:

Full stainless decat back with a silencer (not too loud few pops and bangs).

New upgraded clutch with warranty.

New battery, full service fully synth oil, leads, plugs, dizzy, rotor, filters (pipercross panel) coil pack, maf, new expansion tank to replace grubby one with g13 coolant with old black cap, gearbox oil, fuel filter, painted up inlet manifold..

Borbet a 7.5j slightly stretched tyres painted in gloss white with both center caps.

Ta coilovers, pretty harsh ride but do the job.

Pressed plates, 4 piece wind deflectors and bonnet bra (wont use again after I had to get bonnet sprayed!)

Fogs (wrapped yellow) and custom light up switch in center console.

New brembo discs (not drilled or grooved..) & german pads (can't remember name).

All speakers upgraded, might change Kenwood headunit soon though.

Ibiza front splitter.

All interior lights and exterior bulbs.

All wheel bearings and track rod ends.

Gear gaitor and handbrake cover black leather with white stitch.

Clear corners and tinted side indicators.

Sump scraper sticker, wheelwhores and a clubpolo one ;)

Few things I might of forgot, bits of bodywork, de-badged etc..

Future plans are more lows (just bought a 53 plate caddy van as my daily).

Probably going to get a sump guard made from stainless steel.

Might get 9j borbets for rear and camber them out (eibach camber shims) there 7.5j all around at the moment, which is not that common for real A's?

Bit of smoothing to do (front plate and jacking points).

Seats (probably the easy option, mk3 recaros), and black suade headliner pillers etc.

Summer/show set of wheels (stick with the borbet and get polished staggered b's?).. work seeker cx..

Carbon wrap roof (cover a few little marks and a bird poo stain from previous owner!) and mirror bases.

Remote central locking.

Thanks for looking any updates il let you know :)

Nice one mate, yeah seems to be the case don't see any nice saloons around!

Made a photobucket account today and took a few more photos after a polish, need to take better ones but trackings out now coz I've lowered it a bit more all round so isn't moving for a few days.. might go bit lower though before tracking but sump and splitter stupid low and where I live theres real bad speedbumps.. also got every dent done (bootlid and door). Cheers Mike.

Cheers chief.

Also has anyone on here seen these before?! http://www.workwheelsusa.com/product.php?category=49&wheel=1011 I seen them at player's classic this year on the rollhard stand so people must know about them but they are a 2014 wheel and I've never seen them on a car in UK let alone polo. If I come into a bit of extra cash il definitely be shipping some 16" 6j fronts 8j or 9j rears in polished silver! (before they start popping up everywhere lol) I know work wheels are normally more of a jdm wheel but there American company and imo that style would look naughty on a dub. If anyone knows of a UK car with them post a picture :)

Yeah I know wish I never found them lol tight on cash atm think they would be about £1400 without tyres.. quite pricey for a 'new' wheel but they are proper, might see few sets around before I roll em (not on 6k though I doubt)..

I'm getting the front plate recess smoothed and headliner done next few weeks so il update that.

Wound the coilovers down even more earlier aswell and got it tracked (just about) theres no threads left on fronts, few on rear but I need eibach camber shims if I wanted more lows but I don't want it nose high (still getting shims though) sits nice anyway no arch gap or scrubbing. also tinted fogs golden yellow.

Also got outbid on eBay last week for golf mk3 recaros they went for 380 in the end they were mint just needed a shampoo and steam. Might get my seats and door cards trimmed not sure yet though see what the upholstery company say price wise. True anyone on here going ultimate stance?

Cheers Mike.

Re-trimming wise I paid £80 to have one bolster re trimmed on my seats and I supplied the cloth. Re-trimmings quite pricey. Car's looking nice. It's nice to see a saloon makes a change from all the hatchbacks!

I'll probably be going to ultimate stance not to far away from me.

Aw fair enough il see what upholstery company say, nice one mate appreciate it, and thanks I like my loon aswell because its different, think its a bit of love hate with them I personally like the rear the shape of bootlid and everything, more than a cordoba even a bora, shame they don't do a 1.8t polo classic though lol, the caddy boys get an Ibiza cupra 6k donor so that's what id have to do for easier conversion.. also can't find all red rear lights for it either but I like the rears now I tinted side indicators same colour as rear indicators, and good man see you there! :)
