I have come up with a list for my 1.8t project on my polo 6n2 gti, I just want a push in the right direction!

Could I please have some advice on whether I need to add to the list or something I've said is wrong! I know it's a lot of hard work and money, and the list doesn't include upgrading braking or supension, litterally just for the engine swap!

Here goes:::::::::::::

Agu engine, ko3s turbo, gearbox, ancillaries, Ecu, loom, (as agu is cable clutch so won't have to change the pedal box? And stronger internals?)

Vr6 clutch and g40 flywheel(optional but handle power better?)

Ecu decoded so I can use the polo gti clocks and key?

Custom loom

Custom engine / gearbox mounts

Find the correct driveshafts from another vw/Audi/seat or send off for custom ones?

Custom down pipe

Vr6 radiator

Front mount intercooler and piping?

LSD to help put power down

OK... here goes,

1. AGU is cable THROTTLE not Clutch, you'll still need to run a hydraulic clutch. As for wiring, you're going to need to get a loom made and the ECU unlocked.

2. VR6 Clutch and G60 flywheel, not G40.

3. All depends on what kind of management you're going to be running as to how to get the clocks to work / what clocks to use.

4. Engine mounts all depend on how you want the engine to sit, the 6n2 is a small block car and you're wanting to fit a tall block in it, you're going to run into issues with clearance both on the slam panel and bulkhead. You're also going to need to make a custom subframe incorporating the mk4 golf platform dog mount / stabiliser.

5. There are no "correct" shafts, they will have to be made.

6. Custom down pipe, you're going to need a full exhaust made to suit the car from the turbo back.

7. VR6 Radiator will fit, but will require some work to get it in, plus you'll need to ditch the standard fans in favour of something thinner.

8. FMIC, all depends on where you're going with the build, don't buy something massive if you're not going big turbo, again clearance is an issue, there's very little room behind polo bumpers unfortunately, piping is also going to be difficult due to lack of space.

9. LSD is a good way to go, but they're far from perfect, so don't expect miracles.

You've also forgotten possibly the most important part of a 1.8t conversion, big brakes.

I'm not sure how much of a budget you've got for this build, but be prepared to double it, then double it again.
