So I've been posting and talking to a few of you about swapping carbs.

I currently have a Peirburg 1b

I want something with manual choke.

Found a Weber 32 TLA (member here)

But also found a Weber 32 TLM off of a Ford.

I asked for photos of the TLM, and received them today, my only concern is that the the bottom looks different than my current spare Peirburg.

Wondering how it would attach compared to the Peirburg?

It's not JUST the fitting that can be the problem.

Depending upon what model that carburettor is intended for, its internals could be completely different from what is required for your engine.

In particular, you need to know the size of the choke-tube (diameter) and the size of the jets.

Lower the float 2mm will weaken the main jet's contribution.

See how that runs. Fitting a 105 or 102 main jet (weber part 73801.xxx) might not even be necessary.

TLA has F96 emulsion. Don't know what the TLM Ford 1V uses.

The USA model Ford Fiesta used a twin choke DFTA with 100/F22/250 primary which is a rich emulsion tube with a very lean air corrector, for Californian emissions I bet.

Nova 1.2 used Weber 32TL with F96 emulsion too (but 25mm venturi and 112 main and 27.25mm float level for the extra 150cc)

As said in PM, if they're not too expensive you could always buy the polo TLA and fit the Ford TLM manual choke unit to the TLA.
